My name is Lynn Williams, and I have been the Music Teacher at Holy Cross Academy since 2018.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and a Masters of Teaching in Secondary Education, and I am a certified teacher of Language Arts, Social Studies and Remedial Math.  

I recently retired from Thompson Middle School in Middletown after 40 years of teaching.  At Thompson, I developed the largest Choral program in the state of New Jersey with 451 students in the choir. My choral programs have won competition awards of Excellent and Superior for 30 years. 

Here at Holy Cross, I teach every grade from Preschool to Grade 8. Every grade has an age-appropriate music curriculum including reading music, rythym, pitch, scale, and melody. I am so excited to have created a Piano Keyboard Laboratory at Holy Cross Academy, in which Grades 3-8 are learning to read music and play the piano in class. This project was funded by the generous efforts of the PTA.

I help students learn liturgical music, so that they can fully participate in school liturgies, and each year we practice for weeks to give Holy Cross parents the gift of a beautiful Christmas music program.

In my career, I have directed many school musical productions, such as The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Annie, Guys and Dolls, and more. It has been great fun bringing that experience to Holy Cross Academy. Last year, I co-directed Beauty and the Beast, Jr., and Seussical is already in production for Spring 2020. Hope to see you there!
